The scowl on his face in this pictures is most likely because we're delaying his swim time with picture taking and he was not OK with that.
This class he has worked on growing more comfortable and safe in the water. He can kick on his tummy as I pull him through the water. Sometimes he will put his face in the water and blow bubbles.
I get lots of cuddles during swimming. And I'm not complaining.
And he always comes up laughing!
We've also worked on water safety. Every time he jumps into the water I turn him around back to the wall and have him crawl back out. This is supposed to teach him if he ever falls into the water that he needs to turn around to find the wall. By the time he finishes his third class he should be able to jump in and crawl back out on his own. This is really important to me because he has NO fear of water right now, which is a little scary. I'm glad that he loves it but he needs to be safe around water too.

He can now sit on the wall, jump in on his own, and go underwater.

We have continued working on diving this class and he is great at holding his breath and kicking underwater. Pretty amazing for a kid that is only 11 months old!
I can't say enough how much fun these classes have been. It is the highlight of my week and I know Xander looks forward to it as well. Our third class begins in August and I'm already looking forward to it.
